Orlovac (headquarters)

The branch-office is situated in Zagreb, near the mountain Medvednica. It owns 4500 square meters of space. The indoor space has 1500 square meters, and the outdoor soace includes 3000 square meters, and it consists of garden, park, sport fields and the parking lot.

The branch office was founded on 6th of October, 1992. Its activities include psycho-social rehabilitation of young and adult persons with moderate and severe mental retardation.

The capacity: permanent accomodation for 62 persons, daily accomodation (includes half-day and whole day programs) for 40 persons.

The program of psycho-social rehabilitation and organized free-time is carried out through following activities, programs and tasks:

• Art and creative tasks
• Jobs in the sewing workshop by machines or by hand
• Cooperation jobs
• Help in the household
• Tasks in the ceramics workshop
• Jobs in the multi-purpose workshop
• Jobs with the loom
• Kinesitherapy program
• Activities with the social worker
• Group work ith parents
• Physiotherapy program
• Primary healt care program
• Religious education program
• Voluntary work of the group "Faith and light"

Great attention is paid to social life of the wards. Different specialists are included into psychosocal rehabilitation: head of the program, special educators, social worker, visual art therapist, occupational therapist, kinesitherapist, physiotherapist, medical workers, cooks, and other technical workers (35 employees plus 5 employees in the accountant office).

It is important to point out the good cooperation which employees and wards have with parents, guardians, expert organizations and social community.
